UPA PANEL, CWC GIVE NOD FOR TELANGANA



Highlights from the press meet addressed by Digvijaya Singh and Ajay Maken:
• CWC resolution asks the Centre to assist Andhra govt to maintain harmony in both states: Ajay Maken
• CWC recommends Hyderabad to be joint capital for 10 years
• The decision has not been easy and has been taken after widest possible consultations: CWC
• Have passed the resolution on Telangana keeping in mind the problems that Seemandhra people might face: Digvijaya Singh
• After 10 years, Seemandhra will have a new capital city in place: Digvijaya
• We have kept in mind security, water issues, liabilities.Will be considered while drafting of law: Digvijaya
• Telangana should not be compared with other regions which are demanding statehood, it has a different history: Digvijaya
• This is not due to any political reason, it was a long standing demand: Digvijaya
• 'The formation of the state (Telangana) will take about four to five months'
• LK Advani had opposed Telangana when in power, now BJP are supporting, masters of doublespeak: Digvijaya
